Along with the Tritons, Tampa [45-14, 19-11], Nova Southeastern [34-17, 19-11], and Embry-Riddle [29-22, 18-12] also earned a regional bid. The Spartans, top seed and host of NCAA South Regional #1, advanced to the Super Regional where they swept Delta State University. At the NCAA finals site, the Spartans defeated Mercyhurst University two times (4-2, 12-0) along with the University of California - San Diego (7-2), and Colorado Mesa University (3-1) to hoist the championship trophy for the eighth time in program history

Lynn joined the SSC baseball national championship ranks after winning it all in 2009, and NSU went all the way in 2016.
