Sullivans Earns SSC Offensive Player of the Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. - The University of Tampa's Dan Sullivan has been named Sunshine State Confernece baseball offensive player of the week. Sullivan earns the honor after leading the Sartans to a road series victory over Carson Newman University.
Sullivan led Tampa to a road series victory at Carson-Newman University last week, earning him the Player of the Week nod. A native of Palatine, Illinois, Sullivan recorded multiple hits in all three games and produced a slash line of .667/.733/1.167. The junior opened the series 3-for-4 on Friday with a home run, five runs batted in, and three runs scored. Sullivan collected three hits in Saturday's game with a double, RBI, and walk. In Sunday's rubber game, the first baseman helped the Spartans to a series win with a 2-for-4 performance, including a double, walk, run scored, and an RBI. For the week, Sullivan tallied eight hits, seven RBI, four runs scored, three walks, and 14 total bases in 15 plate appearances.
Sullivan and the rest of the Spartans will be in action this weekend as they face off against the Florida Southern College Moccasins.
