
Jordan Leasure Named Male Iron Spartan
TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa baseball player and graduate student Jordan Leasure has been named the recipient of the 2020-21 Iron Spartan Award, which is given annually to a male and female UT student-athlete.
This award recognizes the student-athlete who demonstrates intensity, focus, leadership, positive attitude and has shown improved athletic performance due to their consistency in the weight room. The areas that are noted, but not limited to, include using the weight room to improve on-court/field performance, observed improvements in strength/explosiveness as an athlete, and setting the tone/promoting the weight room to the team.
A Tampa native, Leasure has made 39 appearances across his UT career. He owns a 3.40 career ERA with 10 starts, six wins, four saves, and 139 strikeouts.
"Jordan has worked hard his entire UT career. He has completely transformed his body into that of a professional baseball player type of physique.
The awards for the 2020-21 season will be announced throughout the week on TampaSpartans.com, as well as our social media platforms (@TampaSpartans). Other awards include the Iron Spartans Award and the Melissa Vanderhall Spartan Cape Award.
