
Tampa Baseball Selected to 21st Straight NCAA Tournament
INDIANAPOLIS - The defending national champion University of Tampa baseball program has earned its 35th invitation to the NCAA Division II South Regional, with the eight-time national champions selected as the No. 3 seed in the region.
The University of West Florida has been selected as the host of the South Regional, as the Argonauts will host the six-team regional at Jim Spooner Field in Pensacola, Fla. The winner of each of the eight regionals will advance to the NCAA National Championship Series on June 5-12 in Cary, N.C.
Tampa will open the regional on Thursday at noon (Eastern time) against No. 4 seed Delta State University. The second game of the day follows at 3 p.m., and will feature No. 2 Lee and No. 5 Alabama-Huntsville. UWF will face No. 6 Shorter at 7 p.m., Thursday. The regional is a double-elimination format.
Fans can purchase an All-Tournament Pass for the tournament with tickets ranging from $10-$25. Additionally, fans can purchase a day pass with tickets ranging from $3 to $8. Children under the ages of 2 get into the tournament for free.
