TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa baseball team sweeps the series against the Georgia Southwestern University Hurricanes.

All-Time Series: The Spartans extended the lead in the all-time series to 3-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED – Game One:
In the top first Michael Paul let up a leadoff single to the Hurricanes. The next batter he got them to ground out into a six-to-four-three double play. In the top of the third, Paul struck out the side to keep the game even. Jamarcus Lyons led off the Spartans in the bottom half of the fourth with a single to left. Dan Sullivan followed up with a double off the wall in left. With two guys in scoring position, J.D. Urso came up big with a single to center to score Lyons for the first run of the game. Jordan Lala hit a sacrifice fly to left to score Sullivan to extend the Spartans' lead | 2-0 Tampa. In the bottom of sixth, Sullivan hit his second double of the game to right field that scored Drew Ehrhard. Urso followed up with a single to left to score Giovany Lorenzo | 4-0 Tampa. Paul's day is done after 7.0 IP. Dalton Ross came in relief at the top of the eighth and shut the door in the last two innings | Final: 6-0 Tampa.
HOW IT HAPPENED – Game Two:
In the bottom of the first, hitters one through four were walked or hit by pitch. E.J. Cumbo scored by a passed ball, and a J.D. Urso sacrifice fly extended the Spartans' lead | 3-0 Tampa. Jordan Lala led off the Spartans in the bottom of the with a single to center. He stole second with ease and eventually scored on a wild pitch from third | 4-0 Tampa. The Hurricanes scratch one back in the top of third | 4-1 Tampa. Dan Sullivan in the bottom third, hit his second home run on the year to deep right field. J.D. Urso stole second and advanced to third on the catcher's throwing error. Lala scored Urso on a sacrifice fly to right field| 7-1 Tampa. Jose Cadenas scored on a Drew Ehrhard ground out to the shortstop in the bottom of the fourth | 8-1 Tampa. In the bottom half of the fifth, Luke Glancy entered the game for Lala, he grounded out but Urso scored on the play to make it | 9-1 Tampa. A sacrifice fly from Ehrhard tacked on another to grow the Spartans' lead even further | 10-1 Tampa. A Josh Rulli double sparked a five-run inning in the bottom of the seventh | 15-1 Tampa. Alex Canney and Alex Passarella shut it down in relief with five scoreless innings | Final: 15-1 Tampa.

- Urso and Lala each had two RBI.
