Michael Paul Deals as Spartans Outslug Pacers
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa Spartans take the second game of the series against the University of South Carolina-Aiken Pacers.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
In the bottom of the first, E.J. Cumbo doubled to right center after a lead off walk from Nicholas Winkelmeyer. Jamarcus Lyons grounds out to the shortstop that scored another | 2-0 Tampa. In the bottom half of the second, two walks to start the inning, gave Jose Cadenas an opportunity to put some runs on the board. He eventually put one down the left field line into the corner that scored two. Winkelmeyer later scored Cadenas on an infield ground out | 5-0 Tampa. Jordan Lala double to right center scored Lyons from second base to extend the lead. Cadenas grabbed his third RBI of the day with a single to the left side that scored Dan Sullivan | 7-0 Tampa after three. In the bottom of the fifth, the Spartans fill the bases with no outs and failed to score. In the bottom of the sixth, Tampa scratched another one across that extended the lead even further | 8-0 Tampa. In the bottom of the seventh, the Spartans put three more across sparked by a Cumbo single | 11-0 Tampa. Drew Martin entered the game in the top of the eighth. Martin shut the door in the ninth only letting up a run | Final: 11-1 Tampa.
