
Jordan Lala Named SSC Player of the Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa baseball player Jordan Lala was presented Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week honors for his efforts in a series at Embry-Riddle.
Lala receives Player of the Week after slashing .667/.647/.667 from the leadoff spot in a series sweep of Embry-Riddle. The junior from Tampa went 10-for-15 at the plate, with at least two hits in each game. Lala tallied five RBI, three runs scored, one walk, and one stolen base in three games against the Eagles. Game three was his top performance of the week, he went 4-for-5 at the plate with three RBI and two runs scored. Defensively, the outfielder had eight putouts in eight chances.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of March 28 - April 3, 2022. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
