SSC Honors Dan Sullivan as Player of the Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa first baseman Dan Sullivan was named the recipient of the final Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week award, which was announced Monday by the league office.
Sullivan collects Player of the Week after slashing .500/.538/.800 during a three-game set at Eckerd. The Palatine, Illinois product went 5-for-10 at the plate, with six runs batted in and two runs scored. Nearly all of Sullivan's offensive production came in game two, where he connected on a go-ahead grand slam and later provided an insurance RBI. Defensively, the first baseman had 24 putouts and an assist in 25 chances while also helping the Spartans turn two double plays. The weekly award is the second of his career.
