No. 3 Spartans Set to Face an Opponent they haven't seen Since 2009
TAMPA, Fla. – The Spartans continue their homestand against the Quincy University Hawks at home for a three game series.

About the Spartans: The Spartans are fresh off a sweep, with two wins coming in walk-off fashion in extra innings. Santiago Garavito and Jordan Lala lead players with more than 10 at bats, hitting .364 at the plate. E.J. Cumbo leads the Spartans with three RBI, two of those coming in his walk-off homerun in the series finale against Georgia College. The pitching staff after three games has a 1.20 ERA.
About the Hawks: The Hawks come to Tampa for their first series of the season. They were picked to finish second in the preseason coaches' poll for the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Last season, the Hawks finished 37-25, and 15-9 in conference play. Their season came to an end in the NCAA Midwest Super Regional to conference foe, University of Springfield Illinois in three games.
Series History: Last time these two teams have met was March 7, 2009, and the Spartans came out victorious 13-3 at home. The only other time the Spartans have squared off against the Hawks was three years prior to the first meeting in Montgomery, Ala. Tampa won that game 7-0, and Lee Cruz went 2-3 with a run and 3 RBI.
