HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Tampa blew the game open in the bottom of the second inning by tallying eight runs in the frame. The inning started with the first three batters reaching safely to load the bases with no outs, and the carousel would keep turning. Danny Gutcher plated the first run with an opposite-field single. As the lineup turned over, Jordan Lala added another run with an RBI fielder's choice. From there, the bats would come alive in a two-out onslaught. J.D. Urso plated one runner on a hustle double that chased Quincy starter Jay Hammel from the game. Southpaw Tyler Carpenter relieved Hammel but hit the first batter he faced to load the bases for the Spartans again. Santiago Garavito made him pay by driving in two runs with an opposite-field single. As the Spartans batted around the order, Anthony Nunez and E.J. Doskow followed suit with back-to-back RBI doubles to cap off the inning before Carpenter finally retired the third out. | 8-0 Spartans
- Tampa put up another crooked number in the bottom of the third inning, with the catalyst once again starting from a bases-loaded, no-out situation. Urso was credited with an RBI after grounding into a double play and E.J. Cumbo tallied a second run with an RBI single. | 10-0 Spartans
- The Spartans poured it on in the bottom of the fourth inning, adding three more runs to put a baker's dozen on the scoreboard. The frame began with three consecutive hits including two doubles from Doskow and Nico Saladino, with the latter bringing in a run. From there, an RBI groundout by Gutcher and a sacrifice fly from Lala would complete the inning. | 13-0 Spartans
- Quincy got on the board in the seventh inning, where the Hawks and Spartans each traded a run. Zach Parks was responsible for driving in the first Quincy run while Urso scored on a wild pitch in the bottom half of the inning. | 14-1 Spartans
- Quincy scratched across one more run in the top of the ninth inning when Dustin Dupont brought in a run with an RBI groundout. Eric Linder finished off the Hawks to complete a dominant win. | Final: 14-2 Spartans
