
Jordan Lala Receives SSC Player of the Week Honor
MELBOURNE, Fla. - The University of Tampa's Jordan Lala recgonized as the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week.
Lala grabs Player of the Week for his part in Tampa's 3-1 week. The Tampa native produced a .412/.565/.588 slash line from the leadoff spot as UT dropped one game to Valdosta State and swept Florida Southern in conference play. Lala went 7-for-17 at the plate last week with six runs batted in and five runs scored. The senior earned five walks and stole five bases in six attempts. His top game of the week was the finale against FSC, where he went 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs scored, two walks, and a home run. Defensively, the outfielder had five putouts in five chances. The weekly award is the second of his career.
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of March 13 - 19, 2023. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
