HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The Spartans came out hot in the first inning scoring three runs with a little help from Anthony Nunez's two-run home run | 3-0 Tampa.
• A few scoreless frames in a row took the game to the fifth.
• Saint Leo loaded the bases in the bottom half. A walk and a single to left gave the Lions three runs and a tied game | 3-3 Tied.
• In the top of the sixth, the Spartans had a men on first and third and a wild pitch from Fregio advanced both runners and gave the Spartans a run | 4-3 Tampa.
• The Lions were knocking on the door in the bottom of the sixth with two runners in scoring position, but Dalton Ross left them stranded to keep the one-run lead | 4-3 Tampa.
• Saint Leo took the lead in the seventh with a bases loaded knock up the middle which scored two runners | 5-4 Saint Leo.
• The Lions added one more in the eighth and would be the run that would secure the victory for them | 6-4 Saint Leo.
