TAMPA, Fla. – The No. 6 University of Tampa baseball team clinched its 23rd Sunshine State Conference regular season championship as Drew Ehrhard tied the school record for career hits with 339, joining Ronnie Merrill atop the charts.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE:
- J.D. Urso started the scoring on an RBI in the first inning. | 1-0 Tampa
- Lynn crossed a run in the fourth and the sixth to take a 2-1 lead. | 2-1 Lynn
- Jamarcus Lyons blasted a solo home run to left center to start a 5-run sixth for the Spartans. Jordan Lala, Ehrhard and E.J. Cumbo each had an RBI double as the other run scored on a wild pitch. | 5-2 Tampa
- The game was delayed in the bottom of the sixth for nearly two hours due to weather.
- Lynn scored two in the eighth, coming on a solo home run and bases loaded hit by pitch. | 6-4 Tampa
INSIDE THE STATS – GAME ONE:
- Alex Canney remained perfect at 7-0 as he went 6.0 innings, allowing just two runs while striking out five.
- Dalton Ross closed the door on the Fighting Knights as he registered his fourth save of the season. He pitched the final 1.2 innings, escaping an eighth-inning jam with a double play in a scoreless effort.
- Lala had three hits and two runs as he also swiped two bases.
- Ehrhard, Urso, Cumbo and Lyons each tallied two hits.
- The Spartans 1-4 hitters accounted for nine of the team's 13 hits.
