Spartans Fall in Extras
TAMPA, Fla. – The #1 University of Tampa Spartans drop their first game of the season to Seton Hill.
Final: Seton Hill Griffins 6, #1 Tampa Spartans 5 (11 innings)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The bases became juiced after Jake Griffith singled, Stephen Klein walked, and Mike Valdez was hit with a pitch. Santiago Garavito delivered on an 0-2 pitch, dropping a single to right field to bring home Griffith. Brayden Woodburn would follow with a walk to bring home Klein. Bot 1 | 2-1 Tampa
- After a leadoff single from J.P. Gates, an Anthony Nunez walk, and Nico Saladino getting drilled by a pitch to load the bases, Griffith hit a weak chopper to shortstop, but it would bring in Gates. Bot 7 | 4-3 Seton Hill
- After a leadoff bloop double off of Nunez's bat, Saladino would follow with a sharp groundball up the middle to bring in Nunez. After Saladino stole second, E.J. Cumbo grounded out to move Saladino to third. The Spartans were down to their final two outs. Griffith changed that with the first pitch he saw, hitting a fly ball to left field to bring home Saladino. Bot 9 | 5-5 Tied

- Tobin Moran started the game, going 4.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 3 runs while striking out 3.
- Jeremy Goins relieved Moran. He pitched 2.2 innings, giving up 2 hits and 1 run while striking out 2.
- Drew Howard relieved Goins. He pitched 1 scoreless innings.
- Nunez relieved Howard. He pitched 2 innings, giving up 1 hit and 1 run while striking out 3.
- Ryan Stefiuk relieved Nunez. He pitched 2.2 innings, giving up 2 hits and 1 run while striking out 2.
