Tampa
- The Spartans improved their record to 20-1 after sweeping Lenoir-Rhyne this past weekend and staying at the top of the NCBWA poll. The Spartans outscored the Bears 39-13 in the three-game series. Mike Valdez had a breakout weekend, going 8-11 at the plate with 5 RBIs and 5 runs scored. He also hit for the cycle on Sunday for the 5th one in program history and the first since Steve Mangrum's in 2019. The Spartans starting rotation, Skylar Gonzalez, Alex Canney, and Jake Stipp, also excelled on the mound this past weekend. They threw 14.1 innings while giving up only 4 earned runs. With a 3-0 record in conference play, Tampa looks to stretch their gap in the SSC standings this weekend as they take on Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach for their first road conference test.
Embry-Riddle (Fla.)
- The Eagles have started the season strong. They currently have a 13-6 record and are in third place in the SSC with a 2-1 record after beating Florida Tech and splitting a pair of games against Rollins College. The Eagles also have won five straight against five different opponents. Despite their hot streak, they will face their toughest two opponents all season with back-to-back weeks against #1 Tampa and #7 St. Leo. The Eagles look to play spoiler as they host #1 Tampa this weekend.
West Georgia
- The Wolves have been playing .500 baseball all season long. They have an 11-10 record with a 7-5 record in the Gulf South Conference. After winning 4 straight over Shorter University and Augusta University to wrap up the month of February, the Wolves have started March with a 2-4 record, losing two of three games to both Lee University and Montevallo. The Wolves look to turn things around as they take on North Georgia tonight and Florida Southern this weekend before they take on two Top 10 teams in the country for midweek matchups against #1 Tampa and #7 St. Leo.
