GAME ONE

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• After E.J. Cumbo led off the inning with a walk, Mike Valdez launched a rope that snuck over the left-center wall for a 2-run shot. Bot 1 | 2-1 Tampa
• After Anthony Nunez doubled and stole third base, Nico Saladino hit a groundball to second base that would score Nunez and Saladino would reach base safely. Saladino then stole second and would come around to score on a Maddox King single. Bot 2 | 4-1 Tampa
• After back-to-back singles by Nunez and Saladino to lead off the inning, King missed a homerun by inches and instead tripled off the center-field wall to bring in Nunez and Saladino. Cumbo followed with a single-to-right field to bring King home. Bot 6 | 7-4 Tampa

AT THE PLATE:

• Cumbo: 3-4, BB, RBI, & R.
• King: 2-4, 3 RBI's, & R.
• Valdez: 2-5, 2 RBI's, & R.
• Nunez: 2-4 & 2 RBI's.

ON THE MOUND:

• Skylar Gonzalez improved his record to 8-0 on the season. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 4 runs while striking out 4.
• Eli Thurmond relieved Gonzalez. He threw 3 scoreless innings while striking out 2.

GAME TWO

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• After Danny Gutcher was plunked with a pitch and King singled to lead off the inning, Cumbo launched his fifth home run of the season. Later inning J.P. Gates singled followed by a bloop single off of the bat of Nunez to bring home Gates. Bot 3 | 4-1 Tampa
• After Jake Griffith, Gates, and Nunez all received back-to-back-to-back walks to lead off the inning T.J. Palma was called upon on for a pinch hit opportunity, He delivered hitting a single passed the first basemen to bring home Griffith and Gates. Bot 7 | 6-4 Tampa
• The Spartans dropped a 10 spot in the 8^th to wrap up the game. Cumbo capped it off with a grand slam. Bot 8 | 16-4 Tampa

AT THE PLATE:

• Cumbo: 3-6, 7 RBI's, & 3 R's.
• Gates: 1-2, 3 BB, RBI, & 3 R's.

ON THE MOUND:

• Jake Stipp started on the mound. He went 3.2 innings, giving up 1 earned run while striking out 2.
• Drew Howard relieved Stipp. He pitched 1.1 innings, giving up 1 run while striking out 1.
• Ashton Pocol relieved Howard. He received his third win, improving his record to 3-0. Pocol pitched 2 scoreless innings while striking out 1.
• Jeremy Goins relieved Pocol. He pitched a scoreless ninth.
