TAMPA, Fla. – The #1 University of Tampa Spartans take care of business against St. Thomas (Fla.) using five different pitchers.

All-Time Series: The Spartans control the all-time series lead over the Bobcats at 31-27 and are now winners of two straight over St. Thomas.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- After J.P. Gates was plunked with a pitch and Anthony Nunez singled, the Spartans had two runners on and no outs. Danny Gutcher would double to the left-field corner to bring home Gates and Nunez. Bot 2 | 2-0 Tampa
- After Nunez walked and stole second and third, Macallister Jorgensen worked his way down from a 0-2 count to 3-2, then doubled to the left-field corner to bring in Nunez. Later in the inning, Jorgensen would come around to score on a balk. Bot 7 | 4-0 Tampa
AT THE PLATE:
- Jorgensen: 1-3, BB, RBI, & 2 R's.
- Gutcher: 1-4 & 2 RBI's.
- Nunez: 1-3, BB, & 2 R's.
ON THE MOUND:
- Ryan Stefiuk started the game. He pitched 3 scoreless innings while striking out 2.
- Beckett White relieved Stefiuk. He pitched a scoreless inning while striking out 1.
- Steven Rojas relieved White. He picked up his first win of the season, pitching 2 scoreless frames while striking out 1.
- Torin Byrnes relieved Rojas. He pitched 2 innings, giving up 1 run while striking out 2.
- Gates picked up his first career save on the season. He threw a scoreless ninth inning while striking out 1.
