TAMPA, Fla. – The #1 University of Tampa Spartans sweep the Florida Tech Panthers this weekend at the birdcage.

GAME ONE

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• After a lead-off double from E.J. Cumbo, Jake Griffith followed with a single, and then Stephen Klein followed with a double down the right-field line to bring home Cumbo. Later in the inning, Brayden Woodburn singled through the left side to bring home Griffith, J.P. Gates doubled to right center to bring home Mike Valdez and Kelin, and Nico Saladino singled up the middle to bring home Gates and Woodburn. Bot 1 | 6-0 Tampa
• Griffith led off the second with a walk followed by a single off of Klein's bat. Anthony Nunez would then single to right to bring home Griffith. Bot 2 | 7-0 Tampa
• After a lead-off from Nunez, Woodburn would hit a fly ball to left field, where the Florida Tech left fielder lost the ball in the sun, which would lead to Woodburn ending up on third base and Nunez coming in to score. Later in the inning, Woodburn would come around to score on an error, Santiago Garavito would score on a E.J. Cumbo single, Saladino would score on a passed ball, Cumbo would score on a Klein single, and Griffith would score on a Nunez double. Bot 5 | 13-0 Tampa

• Gates relieved Howard. He threw a scoreless 9^th inning while striking out 3.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Nunez grounded out to second Cumbo would score. Woodburn singled Griffith scored. Gates doubled Woodburn scored. Danny Gutcher singled and Gates scored. Saladino singled Gutcher scored. Bot 1 | 5-0 Tampa
