#1 Spartans 1-2-3 Punch look to Shut Down Barry This Weekend

After sweeping Eckerd, Tampa will host Barry for three this weekend.

Tampa
- The Spartans stay at the top of the national polls, as they are at the top of the NCBWA poll for the 11th straight week. Tampa received all 20 first-place votes, making this the ninth time UT has been the unanimous number-one team this season. The Spartans improved their record to 37-4 and 18-3 in SSC play after sweeping Eckerd this weekend. The Spartans outscored the Tritons 40-4. The Spartans trio of starting pitchers Alex Canney, Skylar Gonzalez, and Jake Stipp combined went 3-0, each pitching 6 innings while striking out 21 batters in those 18 innings. The 1-2-3 punch looks to do the same this weekend at the Birdcage against the Buccaneers.
Barry
- The Buccaneers are currently on a three-game winning streak and sit at 5th in the SSC rankings with a conference record of 11-10. Barry is 23-18 but 0-4 against Top-25 opponents this season. Barry looks to flip that as they face #1 Tampa on the road.
