
EJ Cumbo, Skylar Gonazalez and JP Gates Named ABCA All-Americans
CARY, N.C. - Three athletes were featured in the 2024 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-America Teams.
Outfielder E.J. Cumbo and pitcher Skylar Gonzalez were both awarded NCAA Division II All-American First Team. while designated hitter J.P. Gates was also awarded with NCAA Division II All-American Third Team.
Cumbo, a senior from East Meadow, N.Y., has also been the recipient of the D2CCA Second-Team All-American, NCBWA Third-Team All-American awards during the 2024 season. He also became the NCAA Division II All-Time Hits Leader on May 4th, 2024, surpassing the previous record of 366. Additionally, Cumbo became the first player in SSC history to be a four-time first-team All-SSC selection.
Gonzalez, a senior from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., was awarded with D2CCA National Pitcher of the Year and D2CCA First-Team All-American during the 2024 season. He was also the recipient of NCBWA National Pitcher of the Year, NCBWA first-team All-American, along with many more impressive titles.
Gates has been presented with the ABCA/Rawlings First-Team All-South Region and D2CCA Second-Team All-South Region awards this season. The graduate student from Brooksville, Fla., was also the recipient of the NCBWA Second-Team All-South Region and All-Sunshine State Conference First-Team Selection during the 2024 season.
