Tampa
- The Spartans have returned to the college world series for the 20th time in program history following their clinching Saturday two-game sweep over Embry-Riddle in super regional action. Despite dropping their first game against Embry-Riddle, the Spartans' bats continued raking. They outscored Embry-Riddle 43-13 in the super regional behind All-Time D2 Hits Leader, leadoff man, and spark plug EJ Cumbo's 10-15 weekend at the dish, including home runs in each of the three games of super regionals. The Spartans also counted on their All-American National Pitcher of the Year, Skylar Gonzalez, to keep them alive in a win-or-go-home game two, and he did not disappoint. Gonzalez pitched 5.2 innings while striking out 3 and allowing only 1 run. In the winner-take-all all-game three, the Spartans collected 18 hits to score 15 runs to inch one step closer to Joe Urso's sixth national championship in his historic coaching resume along with recently achieving his 1,000-win mark in regionals. The Spartans look to win their 9th national championship in program history tying the D2 baseball program record for national championships with Tampa's rival, Florida Southern.
