Jeremy Black Garners SSC Player of the Week Honors
ORLANDO, Fla. - Following a pair for double figure scoring efforts, University of Tampa men's basketball player Jeremy Black has been tabbed as the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week for the period ending February 3.
Black, a native of Tampa, led the Spartans to a pair of SSC victories, averaging 21.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.0 assist and 0.5 blocks per game. In a 79-74 overtime win at Lynn, Black chipped in 13 points, four rebounds, two steals, and a block. Black then dominated in an 83-68 win over number 14 Rollins, amassing 29 points, a career-high 20 rebounds, two assists and two steals. For the week, Black shot 57 percent (13-for-23) from the field, 40 percent (2-for-5) from three-point range, and 82 percent (14-of-17) at the free throw line.
This marks the second weekly award for Black this season, as he received the same honor on November 26.
