
Rashad Callaway’s Huge Day Leads Spartan Blowout
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's basketball team defeated the Florida Memorial Lions by a score of 92-56. The Spartans move to 3-0 on the season while the Lions fall to 1-3.
UT controlled the entire game, and led by as many as 40 points as it never trailed. The Spartans held a halftime lead of 53-25 and outscored the Lions 39-31 in the final half.
A total of three players scored in double figures as Rashad Callaway led Tampa with a career high 31 points. Fred Woods added 12 points as Johnathan Ball scored 11.
Callaway enjoyed a career day as he was perfect from three-point range, going 7-7. Woods grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds to register a double-double.
Anthony LaBruno led Tampa with seven assists as Callaway, Glyn Hunter and Marcus Morrison each tallied three steals. Matt Tomaszewski led all Spartans with four blocks.
Tampa returns to action on Friday when it travels to Pensacola to face the University of West Florida at 2 p.m.
