Rashad Callaway Earns SSC Weekly Recognition

ORLANDO, Fla. - University of Tampa sophomore guard Rashad Callaway has been selected Sunshine State Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending January 19.

Callaway (Bayonne, N.J.) helped the Spartans pick up two key conference wins, averaging 19.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.0 steal, and 0.5 blocks per game. In a 70-52 victory over Saint Leo, he recorded 23 points, three rebounds, six assists, one block and one steal. In a 70-61 win over Barry, he posted 15 points, four rebounds, one assist, and one steal. In both contests combined, he shot 50 percent (10-for-20) from the field, 63 percent (5-for-8) from the three-point range, and 65 percent (13-for-20) at the line.
