
Spartans Shoot Past Palm Beach Atlantic
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa (11-7) men's basketball team registered its second victory of the season over Palm Beach Atlantic University (8-14), defeating the Sailfish by a 75-64 score. The victory is the second straight for Tampa, who also defeated Lynn on Wednesday.
UT took the lead for good on a Johnathan Ball three-pointer with 16 minutes remaining in the first half and built a 44-27 halftime lead on eight first-half 3-pointers. Rashad Callaway led the Spartans with 15 first-half points.
Callaway finished with a game-high 26 points as he connected on seven 3-pointers. Johnathan Ball scored 13 as Anthony LaBruno turned in 10 points and a team-high eight assists. Fred Woods led Tampa with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Tampa shot 55.3 percent from the field, and 52.4 from 3-point range. The Spartans had 11 long-range shots, while holding PBA to a 41.1 percent clip.
