
Rashad Callaway Named Preseason All-American By The Sporting News
TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa men's basketball player Rashad Callaway has been named an honorable mention preseason All-American by The Sporting News. The preseason All-American teams were announced as part of the NCAA Division II Preview.
Callaway was one of four players from the Sunshine State Conference to earn the honors as Chris Hall (Lynn), John Thompson (Florida Southern) and Nick Wolf (Rollins) were also named. Callaway, Hall and Wolf were each first-team all-SSC performers last season while Thompson was represented on the second-team.
A junior point guard from Bayonne, N.J., Callaway led the Spartans to a 16-12 record last year while holding team honors in points (18.0 ppg), assists (126), steals (43), and 3-point field goals (65). He scored 30-plus points in four contests while notching a season-high 31 points on three occasions as he recorded double figures in 24 games.
