Spartans Set To Entertain Rollins College
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's basketball team is looking to end its two game losing streak as it hosts No. 23 Rollins College on Saturday at the Bob Martinez Sports Center. The 4 p.m. contest will pit the 8-5 Spartans (3-2 SSC) against the 11-3 (3-1 SSC) Tars.
Tampa is coming off a pair of Sunshine State Conference losses, suffering nine point setbacks to Lynn and Eckerd. The Spartans had previously started its SSC season with three victories and are winners of both home conference contests.
Rollins has won two straight games, topping Nova Southeastern and No. 2 Florida Southern at home. The Tars are a perfect 2-0 on the road this season, defeating Lynn and Palm Beach Atlantic. Reigning SSC Player of the Year Nick Wolf leads RC with 19.2 points per game, 7.1 rebounds per game and a total of 51 assists.
UT carries a 65-37 advantage in the all-time series as the two teams split last season with each winning at home. The Spartans have won seven of the last eight meetings in the series.
