
Rashad Callaway Lands A Spot On The SSC All-Tournament Team
ORLANDO, Fla. - University of Tampa men's basketball senior, Rashad Callaway picked up a spot on the Sunshine State Conference all-tournament team as announced by the conference office Sunday following competition.
The Bayonne, N.J. native first led his team to victory in the conference tournament quarterfinals against Florida Tech ending the game going 8-for-14 from the field to gather a team-leading 33 points. Callaway recorded 6-of-8 made treys to go along with 11-for-12 made baskets from the charity stripe. In 34 minutes of action, Callaway picked up a double-double after dishing out a new career-best 12 assists while also grabbing two steals in the match-up.
The six foot point guard then went 6-for-12 in the SSC semifinals thriller versus Rollins College to pick up 17 points. Going 5-for-10 from long range, Callaway took home a team-leading six assists in 31 minutes.
For the week, Callaway shot 53.8 percent from the field and a staggering 91.6 percent from the free throw line to go along with a 61.1 percent 3-point field goal mark. The senior ended the pair of games averaging 25.0 points, nine assists and 1.5 steals in the tournament.
