UT Men’s Basketball Volunteers for “Into the Streets” Event
TAMPA, Fla. - For the second consecutive year, members of the University of Tampa men's basketball team participated in the "Into the Streets" volunteer program through the UT PEACE office.
The team visited the Glazer Children's Museum and assisted with the museum's second anniversary celebration. Some of the student-athletes monitored play areas while others welcomed families and handed out gift certificates to parents.
"It was really cool to be out in the community and to interact with some local kids," commented senior guard Anthony Griffis.
Over the past two years, the UT men's basketball team has participated in several community involvement projects. In addition to both "Into the Streets" efforts, the Spartans have also helped build a youth playground and visited a Children's Cancer Center.
