Tampa Drops Battle With Lynn

TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa (6-5, 0-2) kicked off 2015 with a close loss to the Lynn Fighting Knights (8-2, 2-0) on Saturday afternoon at the Bob Martinez athletics Center.
Tampa took a 33-25 lead into the half behind a 46.2 % (12-26) effort from the field. The UT defense was also able to hold LU to 35.5 % (11-31) shooting. Senior Eugene McCrory led the charge for Tampa in the first 20 minutes, as he put up 12 points.
Lynn used a strong performance in the second half to propel them to victory. As a team the Fighting Knights shot 65.2 % (15-23) from the field. LU used good defense as they held UT to only 32.1 % (9-28) from the floor.
Senior Eugene McCrory recored another double-double as he put up 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Tampa will be back in action on Wednesday as they travel to St. Petersburg to take on the Eckerd College Tritons.
