
Spartans Drop SSC Game to Sharks
KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The No. three seed University of Tampa dropped a 91-84 contest to the No. six seed, Nova Southeastern University. The loss eliminates Tampa from the Sunshine State Conference Tournament. The Spartans fall to 18-10, while the Sharks move to 12-15. NSU moves on to play Barry in the SSC semifinals.
Senior Jordan Davis finished with 30 points, as he was able to sink six three-pointers and 10 free throws. Davis was also just shy of a triple-double as he recorded 11 rebounds and nine assists.
Sophomore Austin Rettig added 18 points on the night, to go along with six rebounds. Senior Eugene McCrory also added double digits, as he collected 17 points, and nine rebounds.
Nova was in control most of the game,as they led for 36 minutes in the game. The Sharks were led by All-SSC selection Chris Page, as the junior dropped 30 points and 12 rebounds.
As a team, UT shot 40% from the field (29-72), but that was not enough as NSU shot 51% (26-51).
