
Jordan Davis Receives Daktronics All-Region Honors
LAKELAND, Fla. - The 2014-15 Daktronics/Division II Conference Commissioners Association South Region Men's Basketball Team has been released with University of Tampa senior guard Jordan Davis on the secvond team.
Davis, also a first-team all-Sunshine State Conference selection, was one of two Spartans to start all 28 games. He averaged 15.6 points per game and led the team with 203 assists and 48 steals.
The Tampa, Fla., native also led all Spartans with 1,051 minutes, 72 3-point field goals made and an 87.5 percent free throw percentage. Davis also became the first player in program history to notch a triple-double, as he netted 15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists against Cedarville on December 21.
Six of the 10 players selected, including three of the five first team honorees, have helped lead their teams to the NCAA Division II Tournament as they will begin this weekend at the South Regional Tournament hosted by No. 1 ranked and region No. 1 seed Florida Southern College.
Headlining the list of first team selections is Florida Southern senior guard Kevin Capers, who was named the South Region Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
The 2014-15 Daktronics/ Men's Basketball All-America Team will announced on March 23. The first team members from each of the country's eight regions are placed on the national ballot with the Division II SIDs selecting a first, second and third-team All-America honorees.
