Anthony Gamble Earns SSC Player of the Week Honors

MELBOURNE, Fla. - University of Tampa men's basketball player Anthony Gamble was honored as the Sunshine State Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Gamble is named Player of the Week after breaking a Tampa men's basketball record and tying another this week. The Riverview, Florida native scored a career-high 32 points as the Spartans defeated Florida Tech, 96-66, on Saturday. Gamble took a program record 22 three-point attempts in the victory and connected 10 times to tie Tampa's single game record. Gamble shot 48% from the field (11-23) and 45% from beyond the arc in the victory. Tampa is now 7-3 overall and 2-1 in SSC play.

Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their performances during the week of December 5 - 11, 2016. Athletes are nominated by Sports Information Directors of member institutions.
