Spartans Fall to Sharks on the Road

HOW IT HAPPENED:
1st Half | Nova Southeastern hit the boards first to open the half on a layup. Pat Bacon quickly retailated as he sunk a three pointer, the first Spartan to score. Marcel Robinson mirrored Bacon with a three pointer of his own. Senior Duke Shelton got in on the offensive action with a dunk, assisted by Bacon. The Sharks fought back tying the game with just over 15 minutes left in the half. They went on an offensive run that would give them an 11 point lead. Anthony Gamble cut the lead down after hitting a three pointer from the corner assisted by Robinson. Both teams remained scoreless for nearly two minutes until Bacon was fouled and sent to the line. The Sharks continued to increase their lead, keeping the spread at least 10 points over the Spartans. The Sharks led 52-38 going into halftime.    

2nd Half | Shelton was the first player on the floor to score, he notched the points with a jump shot. The Spartans were scoreless for three minutes until Alberto Moreno was fouled and sent to the line. Bacon cut the lead after sinking a deep three pointer, making the score 79-58. The Sharks offense did not cool off as they continued to keep the lead over Tampa, leading by at least 12 points through the entirety of the second half. The Sharks capitalized on their lead and ended up winning 92-69. 

INSIDE THE STATS:

• Bacon led all Spartans with 24 points, six rebounds, and two assists.
• Shelton led the team defensively with 19 rebounds.
• Robinson was the second leading point scorer with 12 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
