
Felder’s 19 Helped Tampa Complete Season Sweep Over Eckerd
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Tampa Spartans men's basketball team defeated Eckerd College on the road on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half: The Tritons got on the board first. But the Spartans fought, trading basket after basket, trying to cut the Tritons lead down. The most the Tritons led in the half was seven early on (14-7). Later, the Spartans would match that with a lead of their own at seven (29-22) going on an impressive 22-8 run. Jonathan Bryant II scored 10 points in the half along with the offense being in sync. But the Tritons would come back to tie the game and would eventually lead at the end of the first half after a late three-pointer to put them up by two. II Score: 34-32 (Eckerd)
Second Half: The Spartans took control of the pace in the game right off the whistle. Derrick Felder scored two straight times that would entice his teammates to chime in on the scoring run. An 11-4 run would put the Spartans up by six by the 15-minute mark. The Tritons, trying to cut down the lead, would be stopped by Bryan William, who scored 15 of his 18 points in the second half. The Spartans would continue to pounce on the Tritons going on a 20-8 run, up 15 with five minutes remaining in the game (65-50). Felder and Williams really complimented each other in this half, scoring the majority of the points. The Tritons were successful in their efforts to cut the lead to single digits. However, as the clock ran out so did the Tritons chances of winning, which had the Spartans sealing the deal at the free-throw line. || Score: 77-66 (Tampa)
