Week Preview: Spartans Matchup Against Two SSC Opponents This Week

Spartans look to stay undefeated in conference play this week.

Tampa
- The Spartans continue their second-half struggles this past weekend in back-to-back losses this weekend to Wayne State (Neb.) and Davenport in the Eckerd Thanksgiving Classic. The Spartans are still tied for first in the SSC with its only win coming from an SSC matchup; however, they have the worst overall record in the SSC. Tampa looks to bounce back this upcoming week with two tough conference matchups against Florida Tech on Wednesday in Melbourne and Embry Riddle on Saturday at home.
Florida Tech
- The Panthers are playing well lately. They have won 5 of 6 games after going 2-1 this past week. Florida Tech's two wins this week came in dominating fashion, beating Johnson University – Florida 89-53 & Trevecca Nazarene University 83-51. The Panthers fell to the University of Puerto Rico-Bayamon 76-70 however. The Panthers look to start a new winning streak as they take on Tampa and Lynn in two SSC matchups this week. The Panthers are 5-1, and 1-0 in SSC. They are tied for first in the SSC and in 3rd for the overall record.
Embry-Riddle (Fla.)
- The Eagles are on a roll right now. They have won all 6 of their games with 3 of them coming from last week. They dominated Brewton-Parker, as well as beaten Elizabeth City State and Wingate in the Bahama House Shootout this past week. The Eagles look to keep their unbeaten streak alive when facing off against Saint Leo and Tampa this week. The Eagles are 6-0, and 1-0 in SSC ranking first overall in SSC.
