Tampa Spartan's Men's Basketball: (5-8, 4-3 SSC), #6 in SSC
Tampa
- Although the Spartans opened the New Year with a win over Lynn, they lost 2 straight this past week to Saint Leo and Rollins. Despite leading in the second half of both games, Tampa couldn't hold the lead. The Spartans are 5-8 and 6th in the SSC with a 4-3 record. They will have a big task this week as they face the top SSC powerhouse, undefeated, and #2 team in the country Nova Southeastern. Then they will meet a struggling Eckerd team who lost 5 straight and are 10th in the SSC.
Nova Southeastern
- The Sharks look unstoppable so far into the season. Winners of all 14 games so far have outscored their opponents by 409 points and are averaging beating the opponents by nearly 30 points. Their offense is electric, with R.J. Sunahaea leading the way averaging 22.9 points per game. Nova Southeastern is 1st in the SSC and the #2 team in the land. The Sharks seek to dominate in two conference games this week as they play the Spartans on Wednesday, Jan. 11, and Saint Leo on Saturday, Jan. 14.
Eckerd
- The Tritons have been struggling as of late, currently on a 5-game losing streak. They haven't won a game in almost a month and are now 10th in the SSC. They look to snap their losing streak as they have two conference games this week as they play the Barry Buccaneers on Wednesday, Jan. 11, and Tampa on Saturday, Jan. 14.
