SSC Teams with National Rankings: #2 Nova Southeastern

Tampa Spartan's Men's Basketball: (6-9, 5-4 SSC), Tied for #3 in SSC among three other teams

Tampa

• After losing in a dominant performance by #2 Nova Southeastern this past Wednesday, the Spartans snapped their 3-game losing streak with a come-from-behind win against Eckerd on Saturday. The Spartans head into the week with a 6-9 record, including their 5-4 record in the SSC. They are tied for 3^rd in the SSC with three other teams, Florida Southern, Saint Leo, and Embry-Riddle; therefore, their matchups with Florida Southern and Embry-Riddle this upcoming week are crucial for SSC rankings.

Florida Southern

• Since being ranked for the first time this season, the Mocs started the year going on a 3-game losing streak, including a loss to Saint Leo on Wednesday; however, the Mocs also snapped their streak. They beat Rollins on Saturday in a barn burner, coming out on top in overtime. They are 11-5 after the weekend and are one of the four teams tied for 3^rd in the SSC. Florida Southern hosts two key matchups this week, taking on Tampa and Florida Tech.

Embry-Riddle

• Since losing to Tampa in devastating last-second fashion in early December, the Eagles won 6 straight and ranked as high as #20 as a national seed. Since then, the Eagles have lost two straight to Florida Tech and Palm Beach Atlantic this past week. They are 12-4 after the weekend and are one of the four teams tied for 3^rd in the SSC. They look to seek revenge against Tampa this upcoming week and upset #2 Nova Southeastern.
