Spartans Drop One Hundred in Win Over Florida Tech

Tampa, Fla – The University of Tampa Men's Basketball team took the floor tonight to face Florida Tech.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

FIRST HALF: The Spartans displayed impressive energy in the first half, starting with Amarion Nimmers hitting a three-pointer off a second-chance opportunity to set the tone early. Kaden Froebe followed up with a smooth layup, demonstrating Tampa's ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities in the paint. Cole Gingeleski's tip-in dunk and steal turned into a fast-break layup by Nimmers, showcasing Tampa's dominance on both ends of the court. De'Andre Harvey's clutch three-pointer after a turnover gave Tampa a four-point cushion, solidifying their offensive rhythm. Froebe and
B.J. Schaeffer added fast-break layups off turnovers, highlighting Tampa's quick transition game and defensive awareness. Tyson Leitao's free throw in the final minutes gave Tampa a narrow lead, reflecting the team's resilience and determination to control the game despite Florida Tech's efforts.

SECOND HALF: Tampa opened the second half with strong substitutions, quickly establishing momentum through an early layup by Schaeffer and multiple assists by Ryan Blount and Froebe. Leitao was a dominant force, contributing key rebounds, layups, and a pivotal three-point play to extend Tampa's lead. Defensive efforts by Nimmers and Leitao forced turnovers, allowing Blount to capitalize with a fast-break three-pointer, pushing the lead to double digits. Tampa's fast-paced offense continued to shine, with
Bryan Williams and Froebe orchestrating fast breaks and second-chance points, including an impressive tip-in dunk. As Tampa's lead grew to over 20 points, their defensive pressure stifled Florida Tech's rhythm, limiting their scoring opportunities.
