
Leitao and Williams Named To All-SSC Teams
Melbourne, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference has released their all-Conference selections for the 2024-25 Men's Basketball Season. The University of Tampa had two players named to All-SSC teams, Tyson Leitao and Bryan Williams. Leitao and Williams earned this honor with hard work and elite dedication.
Tyson Leitao - All-SSC Second Team: The Senior from Chicago, Illinois was a walking double-double for the Spartans this season. Leitao averaged 14.8 Pts/G to go with his conference leading 11.8 Reb/G. Tyson was second in the conference in total rebounds with 323 while helping Tampa be second in the conference in rebounding as a team. Tyson started every game for the Spartans this season and helped the team achieve the most regular season wins since 2013-14 (19).
Bryan Williams - All-SSC Third Team: The Senior from West Palm Beach, Florida was electrifying for the Spartans this season. Williams went for 16.4 points a game which was tied for 10th in the conference and 3.9 assists a game which was good for ninth in the conference. Despite missing time this season, Williams had seven 20+ point games and 17 games with double digit points. The leadership and impact of Williams was felt big time this year as the Spartans went 16-4 when he was on the floor.
These awards do not mean their work is over, Tampa is preparing for a Sunshine State Conference Tournament Semifinal matchup with Nova Southeastern. The Spartans will hit the road for this contest tomorrow, Thursday March 6th with tip-off scheduled for 7:00pm.
