Tampa Tied for 10th After First Day of Spartan Invitational
Tampa, Fla. - The University of Tampa golf team earned a 10th place tie after the first two rounds of the Spartan Invitational, which is being hosted by UT at Rogers Park Golf Course in Tampa. The Spartans, who are tied with Webber for 10th place, are at 614 and trailing first-place Brevard CC by 28 strokes.
Garrett Engel led the way for Tampa, placing in a tie for 19th place, with a score of 148. Tom Rourke was tied for 29th after shooting a 151 while Ryan Barnett shot a 152 to sit in a 34th place tie. Jon-Michael Socaris (T-82, 163) and Chad Bouchard (92, 170) rounded out the Spartan lineup.
Nick Clark led Tampa after the first two rounds, though his totals did not count towards the team because he was entered as an individual. After rounds of 72 and 73, Clark was tied for ninth place with a score of 145. He trails the lead by six strokes and stands at +3 after two rounds.
