Tampa Completes Panther Invite
VIERA, Fla. - The University of Tampa golf team battled to a 12th place tie in the Panther Invite, which was hosted by Florida Tech at Duran Golf Club. The Spartans competed in a field of 15 teams as Florida Gulf Coast won top honors.
After getting out to a slow start with a first round score of 325, the Spartans shot 315 in the second and third rounds to finish at 955. The +91 put UT in a tie with West Georgia and 14 strokes behind Saint Leo.
Ryan Barnett was the top Spartan golfer with a 235 (+19) as he finished in a 39th place tie. Chad Bouchard shot 236 (+20) to place 45th while Tom Rourke was 53rd with a +22. The best overall round for UT went to Barnett, who shot a 75 in the first round.
Tampa will be back in action on March 18-20 when it travels to the Valdosta State Invitational.
