Tampa Golfers Complete Season Opener
HAINES CITY, Fla. - The University of Tampa golf team played to a sixth place performance to open the 2007-08 season at the Greneleaf Invite. The event, which was hosted by Webber International University, was played at the Greneleaf Resort.
Ryan Barnett led the Spartans, shooting a +10 to finish in a tie for 14th place among a total of 65 golfers. Barnett enjoyed a top round of 71, which he shot in the third and final round to secure UT's lone top-20 finish.
The remainder of the Spartan lineup included Chad Bouchard (+18, 36th), Kris Shane (+20, T-39th), Kyle Roy (+29, 54th) and Tom Rourke (+30, T-55th). Nicolas Futigny also participated, enjoying a +14 to finish in a 24th place tie. Futigny joined Barnett as the lone Spartans to shoot in the 70's in all three rounds as he shot 76, 77 and 77 respectively.
Tampa's next meet will be the Spartan Invitational on October 8-9. The event, which will be hosted by UT, will take place at Rogers Park.
