Spartans Finish First Competition Of 2009 Season

LAKE WALES, Fla. - The University of Tampa golf team competed in its first meet of the 2009-10 season as it finished 10th at the Webber Invitational. After an opening round of 312, the Spartans posted a second-round score of 303.

Scott Serwa was UT's top golfer with a ninth place finish. After shooting a first-round score of 67, Serwa finished the event with an 81 in the final round.

Nicolas Jutigny shot a 152 to finish 26th overall. Other Spartans to compete were Charlie Green, Kyle Roy, Eric Snow, Kris Shane and Josh Detmer.

Tampa returns to action on Mon., Sept. 28, at the Flagler Invitational in St. Augustine.
