
Tampa Finishes Second At Spartan Invitational
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa concluded the annual Spartan Invitational with a second-place finish after shooting a 295 in Tuesday's final round.
The Spartans finished with a 594, placing second behind champion Saint Leo University. The Lions shot a 563, or -5. Eckerd (597) and Webber International (598) also competed in the two round event.
Three UT golfers finished in the top-10 as sophomore Scott Serwa led all UT golfers with a 146. Serwa was +4 and finished sixth overall. Kris Shane was tied for seventh with a 147 as Eric Snow finished in a ninth place tie with a 148.
Kyle Roy and freshman Quin Trigg also competed, shooting a 149 to finish in a 12th-place tie. Charlie Green (T-20th, 152), Nicolas Jutigny (T-22nd, 153) and Josh Detmer (T-28th, 155) also competed for Tampa.
A trio of Spartans shared team honors for the top round as Scott Serwa and Quin Trigg each shot a 71 in Monday's opening round. Eric Snow then finished the tournament with a 71 on Tuesday. Saint Leo's Mark McGuire had the top round of the tournament with a 64 on Tuesday.
Tampa returns to action on Monday at the two-day Saint Leo Invitational.
