Tampa Begins Spring Season With Top 10 Finish At Brevard Invitational
MELBOURNE, Fla. - The University of Tampa golf team kicked off its spring season at the Titan Winter Invitational, finishing ninth overall. The host, Brevard Community College won the event that was played at Sun Tree Country Club.
After shooting an opening round of 307, the Spartans notched a 330 in the second frame while concluding the event with a score of 302. Tampa finished at 939, or +75.
Nicolas Jutigny was UT's top finisher, coming in at number 20. Jutigny shot his best round of 72 on the final frame to finish at 227 (+11).
Junior Kris Shane led all golfers with a 72 in the first round and concluded play with a 235 (+19) to finish at number 40. Kyle Roy (237, +21), Eric Snow (245, +29) and Quin Trigg (247, +31) rounded out Tampa's top five.
The Spartans return to action on Sunday at the Webber Invitational in Lake Wales.
