
Tampa Completes Barry Invitational With Top Finish Of Year
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - The University of Tampa golf team finished fourth of 14 teams at the Carrabba's Italian Grille Invitational after finishing with a season-best 878 in the three round event at Normandy Shores Golf Course.
After shooting a 288 and 289 in the first two rounds, the Spartans finished play with a 301 on Tuesday. Host Barry University (854) won as Lynn University (868) and Brevard Community College (872) made up the top three. UT finished in a fourth place tie with the University of Central Missouri.
Nicolas Jutigny was Tampa's top golfer as she finished in 20th place with a 218. His 69 in the first two rounds represented the top individual rounds among all Spartans.
Kris Shane (220), Taylor Noel (222), Kyle Roy (224) and Eric Snow (227) made up the Spartan lineup. Charlie Green (236) and Josh Detmer (238) also participated for Tampa.
Tampa will finish its season on Mon., Apr. 19 at the 2010 Sunshine State Conference Championships. The event will be hosted by Nova Southeastern University in Davie.
