
UT’s Nicolas Jutigny Sets Pace For First Day Of Spartan Invitational
TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa men's golfer Nicolas Jutigny led all participants with a first round score of 69 to place his team atop the leaderboard through day one of the annual Spartan Invitational at Rogers Park Golf Course.
The Spartans fired a 285 to carry an 11-stroke advantage to Tuesday's final round. Brevard Community College trails with a 296, followed by Webber International (297), Saint Leo (298), Warner (315) and Ave Maria (347).
With Jutigny's 85 (-2), Tampa held the top three spots among individuals as teammates Taylor Noel (-1) and Quin Trigg (E) placed second and third with respective scores of 70 and 71.
Jared Pane, competing as an individual, ranks seventh following round one as he carded a 73. Rounding out the top 20 were Spartans Cameron Lojewski (74) and Kris Shane (75) and the 19 and 20 spots.
Also competing for head coach Rick Christie's squad were Charlie Green (76), Kevin Genuardi (76), Jeff Baulet (77), Parker Wingfield (77), Tucker Dooley (77), Mark Cleary (79), Scott Serwa (79), Keaton Phillips (79), Kyle Roy (80), Brixton Albert (80) and Josh Detmer (82).
The final round of competition is slated for Tuesday with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
