Spartans Open 2012-13 Season at Flagler Invitational
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's golf team played in its first competition of the 2012-13 season at the three-round Jay Jennison Memorial, which was hosted by Flagler College at The Palencia Club.
The Spartans finished 12th overall, clubbing a total score of 982, or +118. UT's top round came on Monday with a 315. After opening with a 341, Tampa finished the event with a 326 on Tuesday.
Senior Taylor Noel led all Spartans with a 19th-place finish and score of 229. His opening-round score of 75 also marked the top 18-hole effort for all Spartans.
Also competing for head coach Rick Christie were Zach Shuster (243), Helder Alves (250), Axl Ismail (251), Kevin Genuardi (252) and Parker Wingfield (323).
Tampa returns to action at the North Alabama Invitational on Oct. 8-9 in Destin, Fla.
