Tampa Registers Top Rounds at Rollins Invitational
ORLANDO, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's golf team recorded two of its top three rounds of the season in a 16th-place finish at the Rollins Invitational.
The three-round event was hosted by Rollins College and played at Eagle Creek Golf Course. Several of the nation's top teams played, as Armstrong Atlantic claimed the team title with an 857 (-7). Lander and Nova Southeastern (861) tied for second as Florida Tech (865) and Mount Olive (871) rounded out the top five.
Tampa finished with an overall score of 902 (+38). The Spartans shot a 296 in each of Monday's rounds, and concluded play with a 310 on Tuesday.
Chris Clarke opened the tournament with a team-best round of 70, and finished with a 220 to place 35th overall.
Zach Schuster (226), Myles Wharram (228), Will Monnery (229), Jonathan Singleton (231), Jason Steele (235) and Bobby Ray (250) also golfed for the Spartans.
Tampa will conclude the Fall season on Nov. 3-4 at the Warner Invitational. The event will be played in Sebring, Fla.
